James Herbert was the real 'Shock Jock' of the 70's. The Rats; The Lair; The Spear; The Fog- they're all classics. Mark.Ah a pink floyd fan. Initally, with you saying underneath your avatar, i thought you were A James Herbert Fan. (he will be sadly missed) He had a book called Moon. But if i remember the Stand I think it is tom Cullen who says that.
I agree, brilliant artwork; captures the 'spirit' of the book. mark.Know where you're coming from as I also loved the first three UK Sphere Paperback volumes, but then the format changed when the UK publication switched to Hodder & Stoughton.
And the depicted Tower gets closer on each book as you go from volume 1 to the next one.I agree, brilliant artwork; captures the 'spirit' of the book. mark.

This is the only book by Peter Straub I have read, and i read it twice. They made it inot a movie with Fred Astaire(his last role) in the movie. enjoyI'm reading Ghost Story by Peter Straub a second time around, and still feeling a little uneasy - knowing how things pan out make the start of the novel all the more harrowing.
Good to see you Elijah SattlerCurrently, Goliath by Scott Westerfeld, The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris, and of course, Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King.
Let us know what you think of the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo! Seems the SKMB is split about 50/50 on those books- I, for one, LOVED them!Just finished Mr. Mercedes-now back to my last few hundred pages of The Stand reread. Need to finish rereading Night Shift too-but that one was giving me serious nightmares! Think I'll read Girl With The Dragon Tattoo while deciding what's next. Got it at the thrift store for 50 cents. Haven't seen the movie yet either.
I think you will like Misery. (I've also put The Regulators aside ( ) for now, I think I had too many distractions.)I think I might start Misery, I've put it off for quite a while - I just hope I like it, I have just read a few shorts from everythings eventual, but the last novel I tried was the regulators and I put it back about halfway through. I don't want to dislike 2 in a row.
