Come on folks. It's KFC. They did the kid a favor by not letting her eat that garbage...
It was a subconscious ploy? Or, like, the clerk knew the girl needed to heal as quickly as possible, and that good nutrition is important if not vital in that regard, but, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to the girl's illness, and since there were other patrons to use as scapegoats, the clerk pretended they'd complained? How brilliant! And everybody's pissed at the clerk?! Not fair!!!

Lord, these people don't know good slaw if they like that garbage... That might've been what actually happened to the girl, not a pit bull. She ate KFC slaw and it disfigured her with its awfulness.

And who is taking her parents to task here? It's not like she doesn't have enough to deal with being disfigured, but she also needs intestinal damage from being forced to eat the toxic waste that is KFC????

It's all part of my evil plan. I bought KFC stock because it's dropped so low now. Hurry and rush out to your nearest KFC and buy something! Quickly! I said QUICKLY!
Actually kingricefan it IS Tuesday - isn't that when they are supposed to have their Tuesday special on? Up here they called it Toonie Tuesday for quite a while because at first it cost 2 dollars, but now the price has risen so high they had to change the name.

KFC: Can't verify internally incident occurred

Since the media reports of the allegation went viral a week ago, the family, using the crowdsourcing fund website, gofundme.com, has raised more than $133,000 as of Friday afternoon. Before the Facebook post was reported by the media, the family had raised less than $300.

The family has also retained attorneys. Interesting.

Turk said the family has not yet accepted any offers of free services from anybody.

Is it me or does this sound like lawyer speak for CYA?

Color me cynical.

Best wishes for Victoria.

Peace.

If they're fielding offers, it's probably best not to accept anything without hiring a lawyer to look everything over. Less CYA, it looks more to me like 'cover all the bases' which is likely the wisest thing to do.

As far as verifying or debunking the incident, doesn't that restaurant have security cameras? Footage should be able to do one of the other. If KFC can't cough up some security footage, that might be because it reveals a damaging truth they'd rather avoid.

Here, there and everywhere.
The only reason I have questions about Grandma's story is this: she said "they" told us we had to leave. That sounds weird. Wouldn't you have said, "A fat guy named Brian with a handlebar mustache told us we had to leave?" I've been in situations where an employee of a business ticked me off, and believe me, you remember names, faces, etc.., and are eager to share that info. with the world so that specific heads will roll.

Hi.

I agree with you. I have a whole slew of questions. Why not pull out your cell phone and record the incident? Why did no one record the incident? Why wait an entire week to post on Facebook? I would have gone straight home called KFC corporate office, local tv stations etc. Or go straight home post on Facebook, "You will never believe what JUST happened at KFC!!"
I understand people can be incredibly rude, horrid and sickening but I also believe people can be very kind and intervene on someone's behalf especially a little girl. I cannot believe not one person, customer or employee didn't stand up and say, "Hey! Shut up and leave the child be."
Why has NO ONE come forward and say, "Yeah, I saw that happen! This is what happened...." Everyone wants their 15 minutes in the spotlight.
Many, many questions.
It's easy to get the KFC security tapes and questions the employees. All the grandmother has to do is say, "It was the KFC on Main and Third street, June the third, at 1:45 p.m." Then go out there look at the tapes, see who was on duty and talk to the employees.
I believe this has not happened because the grandmother isn't giving information that can be investigated. If you have a location but don't remember the exact date, KFC can look at the location tapes for the past two/three weeks. If she can't remember the location (hard to believe) but has a date KFC can check security that date in a thirty mile radius.

KFC, I would think, has looked through security tapes for weeks of all KFC in the vicinity/route between the doctor's office and the way home. They are bringing in a third neutral party to investigate and either find proof that it happened and deal with the eployee(s) or back up KFC that no evidence exists.

Either way, if it did happen or it didn't happen Victoria has been through a lot and I wish her well.

Peace.

This does kinda smack of a brother-in-law lawyer thing.

"We've got a case, and they have deep pockets!1!!1 Settlement ba-da-bing!"

There's a reason I don't go out much. If the story is real and I had been there, I'd either be in jail or the morgue right now. I tell it like it is, and that does not make me popular. If it involves a spork in your ear, so be it.

As I'm a gentleman, though, I will lick that gravy-ish stuff off first.

I never worked at a KFC but I have worked many different service positions from bar tending to waiting tables and none of the places I ever worked at would have even entertained the idea of asking somebody who had done nothing wrong to leave because people thought they were "Ugly" or "Scary". I'm sure this specific location is franchised and not controlled directly by the parent company, but I would hope that when the news story hit the fan somebody at the home office made a phone call and let it known that this kind of treatment of customers won't be tolerated.

An older person might not have thought to whip out a phone to get it on camera. My gramma never learned how to program a VCR. Or it could have happened too fast. And it might not have occurred to her to speak up about it until someone else in the family encouraged her to.
I don't know if it happened at all, or if it happened the way she says it. Either way, that poor kid went through more than a child should, so I'm glad that her needs are getting taken care of. With all of this attention, maybe a book and movie deal, she might never have to worry about money.
