I'm reading Middlesex. My oldest daughter has joined me and my cousin in Bossy Girls Book Club and she insisted I read this one. It took me about 45 pages to really look forward to reading it every night, but I'm mildly hooked on it now.

I have 100 pages left in Written in My Own Heart's Blood. I will finish it today, bar any big interruptions.

Great Book, I finished it last night. The thing had me laughing the whole way through until the last quarter of it. I actually laughed out loud at a few lines in the book
He turned on the TV, My Chemical Romance was playing. He liked them alot. He wondered which one would die first

How do you score an ARC? I worked for Borders for a few years and I could get them that way, but other than that-how do you do it?

Just finished Written in My Own Heart's Blood.
It didn't have a cliffhanger ending like some of the others, but enough of one that it gives me hope there will be another book in the series. 
I will only say that I liked it as much as the others, since Ms. Mod and Winter are also reading it. There were a few parts that seemed a little rushed, but it was lovely to be back with these people again.
I'm reading The Bastard by John Jakes, the first book in the 8 volume Kent Family Chronicles. I've been meaning to read these for years and not too long ago found the entire 8 volume set of hardcover book club editions in the clearance section of Half Price Books for a dollar per book. All in excellent condition too.
Just finishing up a Scandi called The Gingerbread House. Absolute cracker! Then my second DT journey.
It's one of my favorite books. The writing is so poetic.
Off topic but worth a mention . . .Starz will air a new series on the Outlander . . .I'm gonna check it out.
I've finally gotten around to reading The Da Vinci Code. I've been a bit at odds with reading lately - unable to settle and/or lose myself in the story, or even to be entertained by re-reads - but ropey as it is in a lot of places, Dan Brown's doorstop seems to have pulled me back a good way.
Trying to read Natchez Burning , nothing wrong with the story, 'tis me, maybe some day soon.sigh

How nice of you to ask, dear Mz. Flake. I go through periods of reading, reading, reading and then periods of where I cannot handle more than a short magazine article. I just have to wait it out; and yes, the premise of Mr. Iles book is very grim.
