We have a few mainly sunny days ahead, with temps in the mid 20's C. Our summer has been humid but not hot with many isolated and inexplicably heavy downpours causing no end of chaos in some areas.
It has been a very odd season, I hope that isn't a harbinger of what's to come, as New Hampster and Ontariario aren't all that far apart.Sounds like our summer. I'm a little worried when I get up on the morning of August 8th to find the temperature to be only 51F. Way too cool for early August.

Does being so close to me make you sick or the weather? I just want to be sure.Makes me sick to be absolutely honest. I need to move.

Did you catch the leprechaun hiding behind the big machine? Did he give up his "Lucky Charms"?The furnace ran for a time moments ago...thought it was the water heater (both natural gas) but I slid off the stool in the kitchen, reached down toward the baseboard heater and I could feel the heat radiating from the fin-tube. Glory. July was wet...believe I read we've had 3" over our average rainfall. Summer has been...to me...unseasonably cool...the garden is not growing well though it is growing. We've been able to get by with the ceiling fans most days & nights...we've no A/C nor do we need it...and we've used oscillating fans to augment the ceiling fans only a few times. Windows usually left open are as often closed. Easy-sleeping weather...if you can sleep...easy-working weather...if you often work outside in various locations. Haven't noticed the rain at work...haven't been rained out but a day, two at most...yesterday it rained around 10...sat in the truck kahvi aiga and by the time I was done the rain was over though it dripped a few more drops about 5 when I was heading out. Someone caught a rainbow last week...overlooking Torch Lake, an inlet of the big lake:
That's the famous "sunken dredge" near Mason, where Quincy Mining had a reclamation mill...the chain-link guards one of many Superfund sites here in the Keweenaw...your tax dollars put to hard work, covering the stampsand tailings dumped in the lake years ago and bleeding into the lake. The dredge would sit out in the lake, a pontoon bridge heading out there so the workers could get to it, and it would suck the stampsand in, pump it to the mill, and they'd get more of the copper from the tailings that the earlier mining process did not recover.
I've heard about this here. I feel terrible for you all who are still roasting in the heat and all the people who are homeless as a result of the fire. Ask your government to call in California and Arizona forest firefighters for help - they're the ones with the most experience in the world (unfortunately). The weather is a little more normal now. instead of 30+C for several weeks we now have about 25C. But it wasn't so much the temperature as the humidity. No rain but the humidity was about 97%. And the lightnings and thunderstorms.... In one day we had more lightnings than is usual for an entire summer. The heat has also caused the biggest fire in swedish history. Still burning. An area west of Stockholm as big as 25X10 kilometres are burning at the moment. People being evacuated. Our summer are usually much wetter and we werent really prepared for a fire this big. We have loaned planes from france and Italy to fight the fire.
Most likely they are. Here in sweden we don't even have the kind of planes that do waterbombing, just a few helicopters. A few politicians have even tried to make this into a way of critrisizing the government (election this autumn). A bit tasteless i say. We chosed Italian and French planes because they were closest at hand. Luckily the fire is not in an area that is densely populated but several villages has been evacuated with cattle and horses and everything. The ordinary people has been great with offering places to live for evacuated (both places for horse to graze and people to live) They have helped more than the government, at least the first days of the fire.I've heard about this here.
