Completely agree Tina. Over -use of antibacterials is not a good thing. Children's immunity is on the decline, sad to say. Vit.C and D are good preventatives. Also garlic- After being outside in fresh air all summer, the children are confined to a classroom and are not in the sun as much either. Many healing vibes for Ty and all those who will have sick school children.

I have always thought that overuse of antibacterial products does more harm than good.
I also buy local honey, and we have a spoonful every day.....call me crazy, but I believe it helps build immunity to allergens, and helps build the immune system in general.
I've heard that a lot. We always buy local, too, on the off chance there's truth to the rumor :) Can't hurt! No antibacterials here, either. Soap is fine.

Just going to rant a minute. I really don't understand or appreciate the people who send their sick children to school. Keep them home! Quit spreading it around! Have a little bit of decency and think about everyone else's kids being exposed. And how do people not feel bad for sending a child who does not feel well to sit at a desk and have to try to pay attention, when they should be home resting?!?

I am more than a little mad that this is going on already. I am mad Ty has to miss, because of someone else's complete disregard for every other kid in that building.

I hate it when my kids are sick. And I know it happens. But for the love of all that is holy, I wish people would be responsible. Sorry. Rant over.
Are you a stay at home Mom? If so - lucky you! There are single parents out there who have a hard time taking a day off work and also find it hard to get good child care. I agree with you about keeping kids home if they are sick. It is just that I can see where some people find it hard to do this.

Anyway cat in a bag - I hope your son feels better soon. Maybe it is good he got exposed to these germs right away so his body can build up an immunity to them. Always look on the bright side of life (as they said in Monty Python's Life of Brian)!
((((Ty)))) :concern:

So - went to a ball game and those Americans won! (Goldeyes vs. the Gary South Side Railcats). It was 5-4 and a close game right up to the end.

My son's GF Stephanie was lucky - one of the players threw a brand new ball cap to her at the end of the game! He pointed directly at her, threw the cap and then my son Josh caught it and gave it to her - lucky kid. That's a 32 dollar cap, plus it was signed!
His name was Tyler Kuhn, an infielder or short stop.

"Kuhn, 27, has been selected as the all-star shortstop. He’s second in the league with a .361 batting average and 147 hits. He has hit .384 and four of his five home runs at Shaw Park. With runners in scoring position, he’s batting a team-leading .375 in 112 at-bats. He represented the Goldeyes as the starting shortstop for Team North in the 2014 American Association All-Star Game in July".

Plus at the end we had a lovely fireworks display, so overall a fun night out for all.

Happy Tuesday to everyone ((((SKMB)))) - this is for anyone 'under the weather' - isn't is hard to go back to work after three days off?

Random thought: Who ever told morning DJs that crude and screechy was funny?

Off to walk and write, then I have to clean house! After everyone being home for the last three days, it's a horrible mess in here >.< Enjoy the second day of fall (on my mental calendar, anyway--lol), everyone :)

Yep Neesy, I am a stay at home mom. And I do understand having a hard time with finding reliable daycare or having to miss work because of a sick child. I was a single mom for 8 years, so I do understand that side of it as well. I always called in if Brandon was sick in those days, even though it always put a serious cramp on the finances, and it hurt us both in the long run. Most daycares/babysitters have the same type of rules regarding illness as the schools do. I just wish people were more considerate. If someone does not have a reliable caretaker, sending them to school anyway just puts the next person's kids, their ability to show up to work, etc in jeopardy as well. But I do understand that not everyone is as fortunate as I am, in being able stay home.
