I'm relatively new to the SKMB club but I've done my fair share of posting new threads. The thing is I'd like to do some reading of the best past threads as well but separating the wheat from the chaff is a tough nut to crack. Can any more seasoned members of the board point me to some of the golden oldies??? Please! Your input is much appreciated. CC and I thank you in advance. :)

"Best" is always a subjective matter so what may be the best for one person wouldn't interest someone else. To help narrow things down, though, are you looking for suggestions that are specifically related to Stephen's work, something from the Hot Topics menu, or a side of Chattery Teeth?

I've only been here a little over a year, but I think the Kon threads - 2013 and 2014 are fun, with pictures. The Selfies thread. MiseryChastain's thread "Who Are You Really? is a good recent one.

The thing is, this new board format just began last year (Halloween or Nov 1, I think), so there's not really old stuff on here. There's lots of folks who've been on forever, but the content of the board is new. The Cantina is where I got to know many friends. And sometimes just being bold enough to private message someone or give them a profile post is fun way to get to know someone, and it's a little more personal. I'd look through Chattery Teeth and find the really long threads - that means there was a interesting/heated/funny/controversial topic going on with lots of personalities shining through.

I enjoy your posts and am happy you're here. I'm probably not the right person to answer this, but as a newish person myself, that's how I have gleaned through things.

Here is a link to the archives of the old SKMB. One example would be: When you get down to Chattery Teeth, it will bring you many pages of threads. It depends on what subject matter you might be most interested in reading. Best suggestion would be to take a look at the thread titles, click on what appeals to you, and read the discussions.

I think he posted on the main portion of the Board as well but I don't have the link. I think Spidey had it at one time, though.

If memory serves me, the only link I had was for the social group posting.
Since Houdini is curious about "golden oldies" He might enjoy reading IN Memorium- a thread written in memory of those from our Ka-Tet who have gone to the clearing.

I remember a thread in Insomnia about the Green Man...was the Green Man a force for the good or a force for the bad. There wasn't much response when I first viewed the thread, four or five responses, but golden oldies is subjective, isn't it? Eye of the beholder and all that? But the question generated my curiosity and kept me coming back and after reading Insomnia four five six times and then reading other SK stories, I began to take note of not only the color green--I think I counted "green" about 145 times in The Waste Lands, not the first time through, but one of the repeated trips--but other words images metaphors or ideas as well. Too, a member by the name of Pale Rider had a thread he started called Guess the Quote...or...if he didn't start it, he did post a question to-do with Insomnia...members would post a quote from a story and others would try to guess what story, who said it, so forth so on.

Numbers probably help. If a thread has had two.two gadzillion views and thousands of responses, odds are it not only glitters it probably glows.
