Like Marsha says, while he is signing your book, someone else could take a pic with a camera as it has no flash.
Stephen is pre-signing 300 books for each of the speaking appearances. My event is the speaking event, not a actual signing, but with random books being inserted in the pile when you leave I assume. I hear its only 300 or 400 signed books and the capacity of the event is 1400, I bought three tickets so my chances are pretty slim. Although I do have a pic from the UTD Atlanta signing, so getting a speaking event this time made my day. Getting a signed book would only be a extra perk. Although I cant say I am not really hoping to get one!!
Who the heck is really going to know whether or not someone used IMDB to get an answer? If you have to 'cheat', then 'cheat'. Easy-peasy.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Hello Aal, sorry to interrupt this game, but we've gotta sort something out I probably should have made explicit 143 pages ago.
Are we allowed to use the internet in this game ? I've had an inquiry into this matter by a member who has used the internet, and wasn't sure if it was allowed or not ?
So yay or nay, what do you reckon ? From the start, I've always assumed that the internet couldn't be used, but that doesn't have to be the case.

Imho, all rules for any game should be stated clearly at the initiation of the game thread. Unfortunately, most of the time on any message board, since most members aren't professional game starters, this isn't the case. For the longest time in this game we've acted under the assumption that in order to successfully guess a submission's solution we can google actors, scenery, anything which might help us, but not the image itself. It's possible to use a copy of the image to find out which movie it's from. This habit has been considered "cheating".Who the heck is really going to know whether or not someone used IMDB to get an answer? If you have to 'cheat', then 'cheat'. Easy-peasy.

As soon as we allow the above habit this game is no longer a game but a silly pretense, less useful than tossing a ball back and forth.
Personally, I try to guess by myself with no internet help. I let those who know it, guess it. It isn't important to me to "win." If the picture goes a long time with multiple hints, then I will start googling actors and actresses I recognize. So what I'm getting from this is:
Googling things in the picture is cool.
Using the picture itself is a no-no.
I though any internet assistance was banned, but hey, that's cool with me.

Well, no, not exactly. It's just my own code I go by. I let others do what they do.Sounds good.
So, googling things within pictures is allowed, but discouraged ?
