Hello Aal, sorry to interrupt this game, but we've gotta sort something out I probably should have made explicit 143 pages ago.

Are we allowed to use the internet in this game ? I've had an inquiry into this matter by a member who has used the internet, and wasn't sure if it was allowed or not ?

So yay or nay, what do you reckon ? From the start, I've always assumed that the internet couldn't be used, but that doesn't have to be the case.

I use the internet when the image sits long or nobody can guess. I have guessed a few straight up like "Red Dragon" and "October Sky" were straight up. But some of the harder ones, like "Trollhunter" for example, were very hard to find.

To try and keep it less search intensive, is it OK if other players give hints based on images without searches? For example, I think that is Mario Van Peebles in the film above, but I do not recognize the film. But I think I recognize the actor.

(I used IMDb to locate proper spelling of the actor, no peeky-peeky  lol)

I think that's alright. :)

Yes, we've been doing it exactly as you describe when we're stumped.

Another way to get it flowing without searching would be maybe a guessing cap and clue limit, then the original poster reveals the film, and we try another. Whatever keeps it moving is A-OK with me. :)
I think we've tried to avoid many rules in order to keep things moving. For example, we haven't felt the need to play one-at-a-time; this allows people to post from whatever movie they want whenever they want. It's been a little difficult at times to keep up with which images haven't been solved, but I think it's reasonable for the poster to accept the burden of following up; if one's posted image hasn't been correctly guessed, s/he can offer a hint, while others continue with other submissions.

Remember, searching the internet is not against the rules nor discouraged, nor is asking if so-and-so is a given actor, or even who the director is, when the movie was released, what the genre is, and then searching. In other words, the only rule can be that an image itself mustn't be searched.

Looks like a Mad Max ripoff. Death Race (not the original Death Race 2000) ?
Yes it certainly is very MAD MAX ish, but not death race. I would call it the Scottish mad max, I actually figured you would of guessed it.

Here is a give away image from it. I assume it will be guessed after this.

Have you always been so assuming?
Well It is a movie guessing game, and I just find if funny that the more obscure images from much harder movies get guessed and ones that I think are give away's remain unguessed. But there are really only like three or four that really play this game consistently anyways. When Skimom2 arrives she will get it, always does. Don't know how to do that thing that "tags" the person in the post.

To tag someone type @ before their name and once you start typing a list of possible names should show up; once that does just click on the one you want.

I'm a smarta$$, you know. Movies apparently can prove one's, for lack of a better word, generation. Even a genre can.

I can agree with this statement. Although I enjoy all kinds of movies from old to new, I just try to put not so easy to guess stuff on here to make it interesting or to open someone up to watching a movie they might not of otherwise heard of. I only post images from movies I enjoy myself.

Easy to guess movies are fun, too. I think most players are movie lovers, and that most true movie lovers don't limit themselves to one genre or era. I love finding a new movie I really like. I resign myself to some entries, though, and it's okay. If nothing else, this game reiterates how many thousands of interesting movies there are.

I thought not. Someone once told me it was okay (can't remember who), but it feels like cheating to me.
