The woods are lovely dark and deep
After ordering for my tab the last three books of Adrian's Undead Diary and starting #6: In the Arms of Family , the library tells me it is collecting The Wicked Girls by Alex Yarwood and One Kick by Chelsea Caen to send me! Glad most of my 'shopping' in done and after all that food on Thanksgiving, we have decided it will be steaks and baked potatoes for Christmas dinner, simple, simple, simple and that leaves time for reading, reading, reading.

Just finished "The Wind Through the Keyhole" this evening. I wondered how this fit in with the DT series; now I know! I loved the stories within the story, and enjoyed being back along the path of the beam for a bit with Roland and his ka-tet. I hope there will be more stories like this for another day, do it please ya, Sai King.

I have a feeling that there's more Tower stories/books forthcoming....

Something alarming has happened in my reading. I thought you were supposed to read books for fun, not to get upset, but lately distressed is all I've been feeling from the books I've been reading.
I don't know how much of it has to do with the fact that I have the cold from hell (more than a week later and it's still going strong without stopping) but my reading experience has been anything but enjoyable. The last book I enjoyed reading was Red Rain, by R.L Stine. That was right before I got the cold and infection that I just finished taking medicine for.
I hope it's just that I've been under the weather. I wouldn't want to think I no longer enjoy reading.

How can you concentrate and enjoy the words if you are feeling crummy? You've finished the medicine and are still under the weather? Seems to me that warrants another call to your med source, sounds like the first did not kill the bug but just made it mad. We all go through periods that for one reason or another we cannot enjoy reading so take care and keep us up on what's happening.

I am blown away by Gillian Flynn....Gone Girl. I bought the book last evening and I stayed awake all night reading. Her plots are so intricate and suprising. She has captured my attention like a set of wig-wags in my rearview mirror. She is also one of the funniest writers I have read in a while. ONE BIG WOW!

Been there Pal. You shouldn't depend on reading to feel good. Although we all know if we practice anything for too long, it can become an adiction. We all here have reading adiction I suppose, and yours is just under the weather at the moment. It will rejoice.

I just bought five Carl Sagan books. He has always been one of my role models when it comes to being a decent, intelligent human being. I cannot believe I hadn't read any of his actual writings. Got a bargain. Five for 15 dollars. Will start "Cosmos" tomorrow.
I loved Contact. The movie version is excellent too with Jodie Foster.

Watership Down, for the first time. I can already tell this will be a repeat from time to time.
Watership Down is an absolutely fabulous book!! It can get a readership from 8 to 108 and they still would enjoy it. Perhaps not the same aspect of it because it is so much but is a tale that will not be forgotten and you read it again and again. At least I do. Just like It I had to buy a new copy because the old was so well read a couple of years back. It lead to some others of his that was really good. The Plague Dogs and Shardik. Both by the same author, Richard Adams. They are very good too, perhaps not as good, but is very difficult to reach that level again. Sorry to ramble on but Watership is a big favourite of mine...
