People who chat on the cell phone while I am in line. I either have to remove myself from the line or have to hear about Aunt Ethel's trip to wherever.

Want to have some fun?

Join the conversation.

Respond out loud as if the person you can't help but overhear is talking directly to you.

"Oh . . . really? That's wonderful!"

And then you turn to everyone else who is being annoyed by this inconsiderate person and ask them if they think it's wonderful, too.

Now, this doesn't work all the time. Believe it or not, some people nowadays are so oblivious to everything around them that they may not even notice you are mocking them. But when it works and you get some appreciation from others who share your feelings but lack your chutzpah, it can be both fun and rewarding.

Somebody like Jimmy Fallon should be doing this on TV (if he isn't already).

Okay . . . this doesn't really drive me crazy, but I did think it was kind of funny.

Usually when I go to the grocery store, I get annoyed with the people who pull their cars up and "stand" by the entrance, as if they are far above anything as plebeian as a "parking space." But the other day I saw something even better than that.

This woman (a very large American woman) and her daughter were exiting the store in front of me and as I was following them on my way to the bicycle rack (I am wicked earth friendly), the lady suddenly stopped and pulled out her cell. This in itself, is not so unusual, and I didn't think much of it as I excused myself and went past them to unlock my bike.

The lady ended the call quickly, which I always like to see, and I wouldn't have given the whole thing another thought until I saw a blue Volvo pull out of a space about 30 feet away and drive up to the sidewalk where Mrs. Glazed Donuts and Miss Pigtails were patiently waiting.

Maybe it's just me.

Maybe this is just another one of those things where the world has passed me by and I'm really the person who isn't getting the joke. It just struck me funny. I found myself wondering how expensive gas would have to get to make it worth your while to walk thirty feet instead of making a phone call.

I'm guessing that for some people, it will never happen.

Drivers, actually.

Drivers drive me crazy.

Not so much because of the way they drive. It's been my experience that most states in my country don't seem to require you to actually learn how to drive in order to issue you a "license."

No . . . what drives me crazy about drivers is how more and more of them seem to think that they don't have to pay any attention at all.

Hey, look . . . I get it . . . you phone calls are important and the world will quite likely stop spinning if you are not constantly in touch with everyone you know every second of the day. But the thing is . . . YOU'RE GOING TO KILL SOMEONE!!!
Lol it drives me crazy when they slam on the brake then in the middle of there turn they will flip there blinker on.um hello signal THEN turn moron.
