In the actual Poconos, it’s Smugglers Cove Seafood and Steak in Tannersville, PA. But my absolute favorite in the nearby area is just below the southern Pocono line… Beck's Land & Sea House in Nazareth, PA. I think it’s also Mario Andretti’s favorite as I’ve seen him dining there with his wife numerous times over the years. Since you live in the southern Polcono region, try A Ca Mia Italian Restaurant on Route 248 in Cherryville, PA, if you enjoy Italian food. But bring your own booze as its BYOB.

Thanks for the suggestions, DiO!

Let me know what you think if you try any of them out. Decent prices and huge portions at A Ca Mia. You'll have lunches for a week. If you get a chance, also try out Henry's Salt of the Sea Restaurant in Allentown. Great steaks and seafood, and their desserts are divine. Have you eaten at the Molly Maguires Pub & Steakhouse in Jim Thorpe? Everyone always raved about it, and being Irish I had to try it out late last year. Okay in my opinion, but I didn't think it rated all the praises.

That's an easy one.. Tony Romo (stats talk.. he passed Aikman last year..) And last year he was the top QB in the NFL !!

I always looked at Romo as the guy who was holding the Cowboys back, but he seems to have reached a level where he's ready to take that final step. If they get any kind of running game, Dallas -- who really got jobbed in the playoffs last year -- could be trouble.

And not for nuthin', but you can have your "quarterback rating."

The top QB in the NFL won the Super Bowl (and he's gonna do it again this season).

I will let you know if we try them out :) We are closer to Jim Thorpe and don't go very far from home often (in case we need to get home to our son quickly).
We are friend with the owners of Mollies and have been there many times. I usually get the fish & chips, but their burgers are really good too.
Next time you're down this way try Trattoria on Rte. 903. Best Italian food I've ever had (and I'm from South Philly so that's saying a lot!). Huge portions too.

skimom2: If you had one piece of advice for a couple about to marry, what would it be?

Marriage is a distance race, not a sprint. You might start out hot and fast (lol), but don't think that settling into a pace that you can keep up for a long time is losing. Be honest, but not cruel. And remember that 'love' is a verb, not a noun. It doesn't matter one crap how you FEEL sometimes, because sometimes you won't feel loving at all. The trick is to ACT lovingly, with the thought in mind that the feeling will be back. This all presupposes no actual abuse is going on, of course.

This is one of my favorite quotes from any movie (The Last Kiss--actually, there are a sh*tload of good lines in this movie--lots of relationship truths):
"Stop talking about love. Every ******* in the world says he loves somebody. It means nothing. What you feel only matters to you. It's what you do to the people you say you love, that's what matters. It's the only thing that counts."

Leif : What brought you to this message board? What do you think so far?

I was on a tear reading SK books and short stories since the beginning of August. I'm not a fast reader but I read 6 novels and short stories after not reading for a while. I always liked Stephen King and have been a fan since I was a kid. I stumbled on the site looking up a video of a SK interview. I signed up and the rest is history.

I like the board. It is fun and everyone seems nice and welcoming. I can see some have been around for a long time and I clicked "follow" those members. The moderators are great as well.
I like the categories and other topics and discussions you can comment on. I seemed to have jumped right in and so far so good. I would like to spend more time on the discussion of the novels and short story sections but I'm having too much fun commenting and chatting in other areas. The downside is, it has slowed down my reading of Big Driver. Thanks to danie for recommending.
