I didn't know a lot of that stuff, Lepp! I picked up some info from a book Margeurite Henry wrote, but not everything you just put down. Like the extra rib, or the difference between a Medicine Hat or war bonnet.

One interesting thing that was said in that book, was that "true" Mustangs have their front legs attached differently; their legs make more of a "v", where blooded horses' legs are supposed to make more of a square. Any idea if there's truth to that? I haven't spent enough time around blooded horses to see for myself. Mustangs have been about all I've had. (they're my favorite) And when I am around a "pure" horse, it never crosses my mind to see how their forelegs are shaped!
I don't know about the Mustang's legs. Maybe so.
:smile2:
If you google Medicine Hat horses, you'll see a LOT of photos of horses that people claim are Medicine Hats. But now that you know the difference between a medicine hat and a war bonnet (and the bit about the shield), you'll be able to spot the real ones.

Just found this.

When viewed from the front, the front legs join the chest in an "A" shape rather than straight across as in most other modern breeds that have wider chests. linky
If the name Frank Hopkins sounds familiar, look up Hidalgo. The guy knew a thing or two about Mustangs ;)
So it looks like it's true, about Spanish Mustangs.
:)

The made-for-TV film The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island was originally written to star the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. When they were unavailable, the script was redone to incorporate the basketball theme. They played basketball against a team of robots.

What originally were the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders going to do with the robots?

I'll leave that to your imagination. The only cast member still alive is Mary-Anne, I think. I've seen it, but maybe thirty years ago. When Gilligan started to get a beer gut, I lost interest in the show. When I was a kid the first TV show I started to watch was Dobie Gillis. The statue used to scare me, when he used to go and think. Bob Denver was good in the show and so was Dwayne Hickman and the guy that played the nerdy bloke.

I did know about the Globetrotters replacing the Cheerleaders. But, then again, my head is full of useless stuff like that ;)

You and I are apparently around the same age. I used to live for when Maynard G Krebs would say "work!".

did you know that if you eat all the while you're making your salad, you're not hungry for salad anymore, and this might affect your diet plan?
