I'm reading Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors. As always it's a pure pleasure to read his work. Well, to get to the point. One of the stories is a 100 word short Christmas story, 102 counting the title, Nicholas Was.
I got to thinking that it might be fun to try doing that, lo and behold it was. I thought you all might want to take a crack at it too.
Here's mine. It's corny but hey, who cares? It's just a bit of fun.
Christmas Mice
Inside the walls were warm near the fireplace, so they lived right there. It was safe, no traps in sight and the only cat in the house was at least 100 years old, too old to give chase.
There was plenty to eat, especially this morning. The stocking they found fit nicely through the hole that was their front door.
The seeds, nuts and bits of toast inside were a perfect breakfast and the bits of cotton wool made a nice new bed for them all to rest in. It was a good day to be a mouse.
