I think I need to read posts more carefully and not just give it a cursory glance. It made perfect sense when I reread it. I felt stupid, but I can laugh at myself.

I had to read it twice, too. At first I was horrified thinking that people in Sweden thought that of Lincoln but then said to myself, that can't possibly be right. The second (slower) read taking it in context with the thread made it clear that it was the alternate universe book plot he was talking about. It is clearly a lesson to me to put things more succintly. The least thing i want to do is to horrify our dear Mrs Mod. Lincolns reputation is fairly solid here too.....I had to read it twice, too. It wasn't your fault at all and had I paid more attention both to what you'd quoted and which thread I was reading, I wouldn't have even questioned it.

Currently im reading the old paperback of Dune: Chapterhouse. its alright. Doesnt have the best story for the last entry in Dune.
Reading the new James Patterson. Cross My Heart and Hope to Die. Two separate books. Quite good.
Read the first 34 pages of Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso today when I was at B&N waiting for someone. 
A Necessary End - Holly Brown
Reading the World War series. In the Balance, Tilting the Balance, Upsetting the Balance and Striking the Balance. Starts in 1942. The World war is going on when aliens with superior technology invade. VERY reluctantly the world powers agree that they have to put their conflicts on hold and cooperate or they will be defeated. Especially Russians and Germans has big difficulties with that. A lot of stories are told from every point of view. Berlin and Washington are atombombed by the aliens in a first try to frighten the earthlings to submission. It does not work. Has weak point but overall a good story so far. I am on the third installation in the series.
Reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman. One of those things I've been meaning to read but just never got around to it.
Reading "A Land More Kind Than Hone". Two chapters in, but not feeling it yet.

Re-reading Salem's Lot. The book seems a little cornier now that I have gotten older. It still remains the scariest book I have ever read. The part where Matt tells Susan that there is somebody upstairs has got to be the most frightening comment ever.
Just finished reading The Great God Pan. It was seriously freaky. I got it on my Kindle with a ton of other Arthur Machen stuff. The Megapack, so it has 24 other stories that should keep me busy until my newest acquisition arrives, a vintage copy of The Bachman Books. 
You are a soulmate then. I,too, re-read and get something new out of it every time I do.
