Too bad ol' Dickie is dead- he could sue for billions of dollars!!!!I realized that I had not read The Running Man . . .finished it in two days and really loved it and I kept saying to myself: This is The Hunger Games.

I hope he doesn't come back like George Stark..."it's time to make more fool's stuffing, hoss!" (Shudder)Too bad ol' Dickie is dead- he could sue for billions of dollars!!!!
Should have been a bit clearer i guess. But Skimoms reading is what I intended.Oh, ok. I wasn't sure. That makes sense...lol. I should have picked up on the 'losing the war of secession'...duh. sorry Kurben.
I think I need to read posts more carefully and not just give it a cursory glance. It made perfect sense when I reread it. I felt stupid, but I can laugh at myself.Should have been a bit clearer i guess. But Skimoms reading is what I intended.
I think it's an internet thing, happens to me too sometimes.I think I need to read posts more carefully and not just give it a cursory glance. It made perfect sense when I reread it. I felt stupid, but I can laugh at myself.
I had to read it twice, too. At first I was horrified thinking that people in Sweden thought that of Lincoln but then said to myself, that can't possibly be right. The second (slower) read taking it in context with the thread made it clear that it was the alternate universe book plot he was talking about. I felt a little silly.I think I need to read posts more carefully and not just give it a cursory glance. It made perfect sense when I reread it. I felt stupid, but I can laugh at myself.
It is clearly a lesson to me to put things more succintly. The least thing i want to do is to horrify our dear Mrs Mod. Lincolns reputation is fairly solid here too.....I had to read it twice, too. It wasn't your fault at all and had I paid more attention both to what you'd quoted and which thread I was reading, I wouldn't have even questioned it.It is clearly a lesson to me to put things more succintly. You are a soulmate then. I,too, re-read and get something new out of it every time I do.Lets see where I left off, Over Holidays I finished,(again) Regulators and then Desperation. Moved onto "The Dark half"
( just released for kindle)
Currently finishing up, "RENDEZVOUS WITH RAMA"
I had read this book in my twenties and remember enjoying it much more than now in my fifties.
The writing seems poor to me,(King has spoiled me)
Still a fun read for the science aspect but the characters are poorly described.
I cut my teeth on Bradbury and moved on to Asimov and the likes.
Im a BIG re-reader! If I'm currently out of something new, I'll start sifting thru my collections to pass my time
