Everyday is Valentine's Day at Out of Order's house............
I am usually excited about ot strictly for the chocolate but this year there will be none
When I was younger it seemed alot more important.We still recognize it but don't really do anything we wouldn't do on a normal day.

Just another day on the calendar. It's never been a big deal for me and I'm not in the least offended when SO doesn't do anything special for it. My birthday, on the other hand, he best be remembering.

Is your simple reminder for him putting fresh gas in the chipper?
It's put away for the winter or that might be a good idea. Now that you mention it, though, it is time to start with the (not so) subtle daily reminders leading up to it.
This is the way I feel about it. My guy sometimes does something for Valentine's day, and sometimes he doesn't. I don't care.....flowers and candy are expensive, and I'd much rather have tickets to the concerts we see.Just another day on the calendar. My birthday is an entirely different story, and since it is also a national holiday, there is no excuse for forgetting.
My poor husband gets faced with a double whammy every year: Valentine's Day and then my birthday the next day. That can be a lot of pressure, and he spoils me rotten some years with roses and chocolate-covered strawberries sent to me at work. I think we're getting out of that stage, though. It is a great big waste of money, although the sentiment is genuine. He's not a big card person, so I don't think he'd really care if I didn't get him a V-Day card, but I DO expect a Valentine and maaaaaybe some red roses.

My better half said I needn’t get her anything for Valentines Day. Like I’m stupid enough to believe that! Picked up a heart shaped box of chocolates, a pack of 24 different liquid chalk pens for her Illuminated Wet Erase Sign used in her karaoke room, and a board game. Momma didn’t raise no fool.

It's really just another day for us. I'll probably make some heart-shaped pancakes for the kiddo and hubby will likely grill me a good steak for dinner, but no candy, cards, etc. Now that our daughter is in middle school, they don't even do valentines at school.
Will the steak be heart-shaped, too?
