Two Stephen King movies that were pretty much the most successful of his adapted work. What are some of yours? Some that are good in my opinion include: McVicar, Escape from New York, Escape from Alcatraz, Papillon, etc. Obviously Shawshank and Green Mile.

Midnight Express

On the National Geographic show Locked Up Abroad, they do the true story of Billy Hayes (which differs somewhat from the movie version). I think the show is on netflix. It's worth seeing if you can find it.

No, I'm kidding. Don't look it up. It was amateurish and awful.

Stir Crazy? Brubaker? The opening and ending sequences of Blues Brothers? Cool Hand Luke?

Actually, the Stephen King prison movies - Shawshank and Green Mile - are what resonate and are the ones I can watch anytime. Best King adaptions to movies, period.

I saw this for the first time in 2015. What a story! The part where he's trapped with the insane prisoners was almost too much to take. A maddening scene. Great movie.

Escape Plan was good for maybe three or four laughs. Watching two Superstar meatheads interact is always interesting.

I have always enjoyed Mean Machine (OK you have to get over the fact the lead role is taken by an ex-professional soccer player, you can tell but his acting isn't THAT bad.......)
