Wonderful news! CongratulationsI can finally tell you all that I'm going to be a grandmother for the first time! My daughter wanted to wait until the miscarriage risk was over and things are looking good even though she's only 8 weeks along. She had her first ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday. She texted me a pic which made me a little verklempt. My first grand baby pic.Due date is November 30.

I drew feathers on a onesie. Not only did the mom to be recognize them as feathers....she loved it. (One of them kind of looked more like a leaf.)

Finished up the jacket, bathrobe, 2 pj tops, and yoga style lounge/pj pants over the weekend so sending the box off to my daughter today or tomorrow. That may be it for a while until we learn the sex.
Between me and SIL's parents--first grandchild for them, too--this will be one pampered baby! We live in Maine but they've been thinking about moving to MA for the last year or so and may get more serious now that they've heard the baby news. I'll have to be better about making trips down there so I'm not the Nana baby doesn't know or bond with.

You have become the "Sewing Queen Nana". Am sure you daughter will love all the goodies. She'll feel your love while wearing them, and so will the baby.
My folks lives 2300 miles away and still became the favorite grandparents! Fear not, you'll be making all your visits quality time.
Once you get your hands on that precious baby. You will travel more just to hold him or her. They still your heart.

Now this is very important, have you decided what the name is that you want your grandchild(ren) to call you? I am the mother of the father of the child, so I was stuck with the name the DIL wanted me to have as she had designated her mother as Nana. I HATE IT!
It didn't matter that much to me so asked my daughter and she said she'd like it to be Nana which is what she calls my mother. I'm okay with that. Dare I ask what you got stuck with?

When my oldest had her first child she asked me what I wanted to be called. I said “The Papster.” She would have none of it. So my second choice was “Pop.” But somehow it has become “PopPop.”
Pop goes the weasel has a nice ring to it.........
Also the sound a gun makes after reading too many smart alecky comments.
