Happy today because I got two tickets for KISS in July, taking my boy to his first concert EVER. Also going to Calgary to see Alice Cooper in October!!!! WHOOT!!!
Congratulations!I can finally tell you all that I'm going to be a grandmother for the first time! My daughter wanted to wait until the miscarriage risk was over and things are looking good even though she's only 8 weeks along. She had her first ultrasound and heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday. She texted me a pic which made me a little verklempt. My first grand baby pic.
I saw alice cooper and he was one of the best shows I ever saw.

When my first grandchild was born, I decided Grandma was what I wanted. His two other grandmother already had one grandchild, and that's what they go by too. Fortunately, the kids are intelligent enough that this does not cause problems.
When my other son had his first baby, the other grandmother could not decide what she should be called. I'm grandma, and her mom is nana, and she didn't like anything else. The baby was a year old....and she still couldn't decide. Since my husband goes by grandpa, I decided she could be called Papa, lol. That made her decide quickly.
The baby that's due any day now is the first grandchild for the other two grandmothers.

Mine was Nana. Guess Irish thing.
Nephew called my mom Bom-Bom. Could not pronounce Grandmom. He called her bom bom from then on.
It was a thing that stuck till she passed, and he a young adult - Bom bom. in general conversation.
My niece and best friend g'mas were called Bobby. (a Polish name for Babski)

I only had one living grandmother when I was a child. I called her Grandma to her face... but I had other names for her when I was out of range of her shotgun. She was Hell on Wheels I tell ya.
