Dang. So basically no one but previous customers ever have a shot at getting a signed copy? I was only able to get Gift Editions of Carrie and Salem's Lot.
Please keep in mind that the signed editions aren't signed by King, only the illustrators. Well, unless you're shelling out a couple of thousand for the lettered editions (which, trust me, are all pre-bought), but who has that kind of money? Not I, said the fly. I feel your pain, I've been there, way back in the 80's when I got on the King limited bandwagon and was late doing it even back then. I missed out on some prime limiteds (The Talisman, Skeleton Crew, Christine, Danse Macabre, Firestarter), most of which I can't get because they're way out of my budget. I have been able to get a couple of these in recent years by being patient and watching, watching, watching Ebay and abebooks.com. I started small, by buying what we now call the 'gift' editions or the 'artist' editions. It's going to take time and lots of $ to be able to get limiteds of King's novels.
