What's a swamp cooler?Wrote up my review of Rock of Ages (FUNNY play! I really enjoyed it. Part of the appeal was that we knew all of the songs, I'm sure I saw most of the bands in their heydays), then went to our library's FanCon. Now I'm doing nuthin'--too damn hot. Mark says he'll get the swamp cooler going later this evening, when it's cooler outside (it's on the west side of our house, and that side is BROILING right now). Lounging in front of a fan and considering taking a nap until time to make the pizza

I guess this is why my friend who builds decks for a living in the summer soaks his hat in water in the extreme heat!Thank you, Spidey You have to live in a dry climate for them to do much good, but here they're much more energy efficient than AC. If it's humid or gets over 100 degrees they're not as useful, but there are few days that ours isn't enough for us.
We are already hitting the 100F mark and humidity-- maybe a few days out of the year it is enjoyable-- Winters are the best for low humidity- but you usually do not need A/C in winter.Thank you, Spidey You have to live in a dry climate for them to do much good, but here they're much more energy efficient than AC. We're just below. Official temp is 91 degrees (though the thermometer on my deck says 95). Unusually hot for us in early June--we don't hit the 90s until late June/early July most years. I don't envy you the humidity. I have a friend who went to University of Tampa who told me that by the time she was done drying off after a shower in summer, she was just as damp from the humidityWe are already hitting the 100F mark and humidity-- maybe a few days out of the year it is enjoyable-- Winters are the best for low humidity- but you usually do not need A/C in winter.
We switched rooms (saved 40 bucks!) - a couple of rooms became available not far from the pool.Neesy You weekend trip sounds fun! How's it going? Noisy wedding party? You should pretend like you were an invited guest and go have a drink and mingle.
not_nadine - I could have sworn you were a gentle pup earlier today - I stopped to feed the dogs and looked longingly at the board for a minute and your pup was all calm and gentle looking.
