My power is back on. Thank you FPL!!!!

No more typing on the phone. How do people do that all the time? It took me forever to spit out a few words. ;-D

I never really messed with the internet part of my phone much because I've always preferred to sit down with a big screen and a keyboard in front of me. But I will say that once I sort of figured out how to use the internet on the phone, the phone was such a big help during the storm. When the power was out, I could watch the local newscasts on the phone and leave a few messages for you guys. Thanks for all the concern from everyone here. My area really dodged a bullet when the storm shifted East a few miles right before it got to us. I hope all our members on the SE coast to the North of me are ok. I haven't seen a lot of news but it looks like Jacksonville plus the coasts of S Carolina and N Carolina got hit pretty hard.
Thankful you are back up and running. So glad it took that jog east. Even a little made a big difference. They are saying the loop is no more- just a low out in the Atlantic that will dissipate. (we will see ). Places north took big hit- tidal surge and flooding.

A few miles can make a huge difference. We were supposed to get Hurricane Floyd in 1999 (it was a Cat 4 or 5 off our coast) and every forecast was the same, we were getting dead centered. Right before it got to us, some change caused it to shift North. Floyd devastated North Carolina after it missed us. When Matthew shifted a little, it reminded me of us narrowly missing Floyd. Unfortunately with a lot of these storms, your good news is someone else's bad news.

That's how it was for me with Charley. One reason I always say, never ever feel safe until they are totally gone.
Just unreal what Matthow did and is still doing to the Carolina's They were so saturated already. Just thankful you are OK.

Matthew continues his wrath-- many who evacuated from the beaches and went inland in the Carolinas are now involved in another disaster-- flooding from the rivers. They thought they were safe and now are being evacuated to higher ground once again. Never underestimate the powers involved in tropical systems! There have been over 887 water reduces.

Our thoughts and prayers with all who are still dealing, will deal, and have dealt with Matthew.

We are getting rain, and wind from the storm today. It started raining yesterday, but today the winds are here. Flash flooding happening also.
The snow I was anticipating did not show up after all

But the good news is a good friend of mine helped me to close up my tent trailer for the winter before the bad weather sets in!

I was concerned about putting it away damp or wet as that can cause mold damage

Same here, but rain stopped, now winds.

Nothing at all like you all had to endure down there. Hoping everyone gets power back and lives can go on without too much damage.

But Spideyman called it, never trust. It came up instead of backing around.

Glad to hear all my Florida friends are okay!
We had winds all last night and most of today. Some rain through the night as well, but no flooding. We're pretty high up here. All is well where I live.
In addition to the coastal towns, the lower elevations closer to central NC....places like Fayettville, Lumberton, and even some parts of Charlotte..... have pretty bad flooding. Ocracoke Island looked like it was completely submerged under water. Power outages as far inland as Greensboro have been reported.

It is a bright sunny fall day here. 45F. Had to put the heat on in the house for the first time this morning, a bit to chilly in here.

So much destruction done by Matthew.
No one was saying anything about the other storm, Nicole. Wonder what happened with that one?
