This one heard you, and he's not happy......The only good groundhog is a groundhog added to the scrapple mix.

Aww, poor Pete......We’re loaded with them where I live. They are viscous, carry diseases, and have killed some small dogs in the area. Last year we prepared and area around the house. Leveled off the ground, covered it with mulch, built a retaining wall, and put a swing for people to enjoy watching the activities in the backyard. Within a week a groundhog dug a burrow and destroyed what we had done. The battle between me and Pocono Pete ensued. When Pete saw his shadow it meant 6 more days to live.
The only good groundhog is a groundhog added to the scrapple mix.
Ran one over with the lawnmower once.....it was delicious.
There's a chance Pete may still be alive. I put a live trap out and the only thing I caught in it was the neighbor's stupid cat. So I gave up with that idea. I shoveled the rocks back in the hole. If he wasn't in it at the time, he decided not to come back. If he was in it at the time, perhaps he dug a 100 foot tunnel and escaped somewhere.Aww, poor Pete......
I just pictured you discovering the cat in the trap........There's a chance Pete may still be alive. I put a live trap out and the only thing I caught in it was the neighbor's stupid cat.
