What I find pretentious about a lot of Prog Rock is overly complicated pieces of music that are complicated just for the sake of being complicated. I appreciate the musicianship but there is no need to play 1000 notes when you can get your point across with half that.

This is self-contradictory. Music isn't complicated based on the number of notes in it. (something I wish certain singers would comprehend) Music is complicated because of how it's played, not what notes are played. Additionally, no musician writes a complex piece because they want it to be complicated. They write it because that's how their muse rolls. They write what they feel, as any musician does, and if it's complex then so be it.

I don't know why I felt compelled to put this here (Was that an 80's style dress?)

For annoying songs I am thinking of one called "The Final Countdown" - that one was pretty bad "back in the day"

I don't mind it once in a while, but to much is to much

Well, we will have to agree to disagree.

I have no clue if something is complicated or simple when it comes to music. I dont really care. If i like i like it and if i dont i don't. Why make it more complicated than that?

True enough. Music can be complex and sounds simple or vice-versa. For example a song I thought would be simple to play as I listened has turned out to be impossible for now. And a song that I thought I'd never be able to play, I've been able to learn more of than I thought I would. Time signatures and key changes really have little to do with complexity. Nor does length.

It all boils down to what we like to listen to. Some music moves us while some leaves us unmoved or downright, well, annoyed. But, since music is subjective, we can't make those choices for another. We dig what we dig, man.

There are hundreds of candidates (Call Me Maybe?), but this forgotten little piece of 1990's kaka is the most annoying song ever conceived by man. By a mile. I beg you, do not listen! Don't watch the video! Don't watch every second.

Luckily mine came up saying "Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner"!
