And here are some happier ones
Hi Alexander M. All beautiful pics. I liked the roses best. I had a chance to visit that area several years ago. I was always on the prairie in western Canada and have never seen the mountains up close. I was in my early fifties and my wife and I decided to drive out west to Kelowna and visit a relative and an old friend. What an experience and what beauty and grandeur! I have to admit I felt a bit claustrophobic for the first few days and I discovered I was really nervous when up high and close to a ledge. Our friend took us to this little mountain just outside north Kelowna that had a winding paved trail all the way up to the top. I found that I could not even look out the window but had to stare at the floor of the vehicle and not pay attention to the outside at all because of the huge distance down. Once I was up top I was okay when on my own two feet and saw some great sights! As beautiful as it was I felt much better back home under the big blue. That being said...Okanogan Valley would be a good place to retire to! Stay safe, mal

Yes, been here about a week. It feels strange. Been bounced around a lot and it will probably take awhile
to get used to being in one spot. I seem to wander from room to room, then sit down and go and wander around again. My attention span is nil.
Sorry - yesterday I had to get ready to go to work so had to log off;

You've been uprooted and displaced - it must have been so traumatizing for everyone involved - glad that you're finally back home again - you were missed :love_heart::love:

Hi Mal I think you are talking about Knox Mountain. you have a good view of the city at the top. The locals
don't call them mountains, they are called hills because they are so small compared to the rest of the West.
There are 3 hills with access close to or in Kelowna -- Black Mountain, Dilworth Mountain and Knox Mountain.
Knox is my favourite, all the trees and pathways to walk and always animals to see. Glad you liked the pics.

holy moly! I am so glad you're okay. I lurve your puppy dog -- name? And those roses were absolutely gorgeous.

Hi DJ The dog isn't mine, I was in the right place at the right time to take that pic. The family were taking the
dog to their larger boat. I think they were evac'ing to their boat rather than a shelter. Glad you liked the roses.

Aerogel, also know as frozen smoke, is the world’s lowest density solid, clocking in at 96% air. If you hold a small piece in your hand, it’s practically impossible to either see or feel, but if you poke it, it’s like styrofoam. It supports up to 4,000 times its own weight and can withstand a direct blast from two pounds of dynamite. It’s also the best insulator in existence!
