....well that, and then there were brainiacs like me that tried melting down OTHER plastic toys on them or in them.....Yep. There was this liquid plastic you'd pour in the mold and cook it on a plate that got upwards of 250 degrees. You used these little squeeze tongs to manipulate the mold. Burned myself on the mold a lot getting the cooked creature out -- or flowers, which I also had. So, yeah.. totally child safe.

What is that thing?
A slide rule. A manual calculator. Used before electronic calculators became available. I used one up through my freshman year in college. Then I got an electronic TI calculator for around $200, and weighed about a pound, that did the same as $1 calculators do today.
Oh, I just copied answers from one of my friends in math class......no wonder I didn't recognize it
