hmmm, I didn't find a dedicated entry for IT movie. Let's talk about it here, if you don't mind. I find the sewers parts boring and the clowns apparitions entertaining.
I read an article on salon.com saying Joyland is total cr*p. The article ended in an injurious manner, the author swearing at SK.
I would like to know if Joyland is as bad as some people want me to believe.
Best to comment after reading the book. This thread might contain spoilers.
I would like your opinions on what motivated the killer. Is SK trying to find an excuse for his actions due to a troubled childhood and as a teenager ? How is mr merc related to the guy in Rage ?
Are American teens...
What's your favorite gruesome scene in IT ? I like the leprosy hobo with one meter long tongue, offering a blowjob to a kid. Other favorite scene is the liquid sh*t cup of "tea" from which Bev sipped a bit :)
I think the only thing worse than a leprosy hobo is an armadillo with leprosy: BBC...
Let's discuss various passages translations from American English to other languages.
We should also compare the translations to the original. Sometimes we can spot errors in translation. Other times we realize the translation sounds much funnier for the respective native speakers. With this...
If he couldn't become a professional writer, what would he be ? A serial killer ? A circus clown ? A miserably paid Ronald MacDonald for kids at McDonalds ?
I am asking this because in Duma Key the main character starts to explore some of his latent creative sides (painting) as anger management...
Soul-less automatons. That's what I see more and more around me. And all that because of smartphones. People have been dehumanized and addicted to their plastic toys. They use their cells to escape the grey reality and live in an electrical dream of rainbows. They will wake up too late when they...
Does SK own a house by a lake ? This setting appears in several of his novels and short stories. I would also like to know why is he more comfortable writing about writers instead of about let's say physicists ?
I think SK suggests we live in the best possible Universe. Any alteration his character makes to past history ends up in a much bigger disaster on the not-so-long term.
One character in this novel has a revealing view on Christianity : it is a fast spreading cancer of society brought by the alien Jesus. I would like to know what is Mr. King's personal opinion on Christianity. Did the Dreamcatcher novel get very negative feedback from Christian fanatics in USA ...
I noticed either the aliens or Mr. King are not good at listing prime numbers , I spotted at least two mistakes: 27 (twenty-seven) and 117 (one hundred and seventeen) are not prime numbers, yet they appear in the messages sent by aliens.
I am new here, my name is Cristian and I read quite a lot of SK's novels and watched movies adaptations.
It would be cool to share my thoughts on these forums about King's work.
