Oh you often do get more - at some scummy little petrol stations you are likely to get your credit card cloned.
What I don't get is when the big supermarkets offer 5p off a litre of petrol when you spend £40 in the shop. Most people put 10 or 20 pounds worth in when they buy petrol, that's about 15 litres (for £20) giving you a whopping 75 pence off your petrol. I mean, that kind of deal only works out if you planned on spending that 40 quid anyway, and you fill up an 18 wheeler, otherwise, you'd probably just fill up there anyway for convenience.
