First of all.... don't get it twisted. Yes, i used the word Idiot but i never said anything about hating him and i certainly never used the word Loser. I'm a writer and an artist. I've lost friends to addiction and let me tell you, i mourned them no matter what the circumstances of their death. Do you know who i think the real losers are? The people that create this **** and then put it out there to turn an f'ing buck. They don't care if their **** kills anyone and will continue to process it even when it does. So don't you dare label me as a careless hater.

You ask that we not be so harsh.... what about you? I've had juvenile diabetes since i was 7 years old..... i'm 46 now and not a day goes by that i don't wonder if i'll become just another statistic. Another person whose body has failed them and i lose my kidneys or my eyesight or a limb. Do you know what i'd give for a healthy vessel??? Do you wonder why watching people ruin their bodies with this junk pains me??? Well now you know.

Why do i come here anymore??????? The bitching and judging is like a plague.

Excuse me...you talkin` to me?
`Cause I sure as hell wasn`t talking to you directly nor was I labeling you as anything, I didn`t even read the post(s) you might have created about this.
I was talking about the whole media out-pour of hate and judging, and yes, even on the social pages, but the word "you" was directed at anybody, not specifically at you.
I`m really sorry, you are having all these health problems, I wish I could help you somehow...
And BTW, I can understand if somebody doesn`t agree with me. All this what I wrote is just one man`s opinion which dooesn`t necessarily make it the truth, it still is just an opinion.
But I won`t apologize, `cause there was no intention on my side to hurt anyone. On the contrary, I was saying that we should love and forgive more...
Love and lights to you.

I agree whole heartedly with this post. As I've said before, I haven't walked in his shoes, therefore I shall not judge him. I have an addictive personality, I know I do. I thank the Lord the "Just say no" campaign worked on me regarding drugs. I have a problem with alcohol. I don't drink a lot. But when I DO drink, I actually don't know when to stop. There. I said it. I have made a distinct effort since Christmas to watch what I do around alcohol. And I've stopped hanging around friends who drink a lot. I noticed that last year, when I DID go out for a night out, it resulted in me waking up in bed with no idea how I got there. Black outs. Every time. That has scared me so much. I'm very proud with how I'm doing now. Sorry, bared my soul a bit there. Might regret doing so, but on here, maybe not.

Thanks for sharing. :)

Ah, now i understand! I thought you were referring to the thread on here about Hoffman's death.

Then i should start off by saying i have love for you & i apologize for getting so upset. In my post about Hoffman's death i admitted to referring to him as an Idiot. I ofcourse assumed that you were referring to my post since we're here. I shouldn't have assumed but maybe rather just asked you.....

Thank you for responding to me and i'm sorry, Srbo!

Nah, no sweat, no apology necessary, it`s all good in the hood. :D

I purposely created this new thread about Addiction, `cause it`s not all about PSH, it`s about everybody and everything, like i said, we all have one or the other monkey on our backs.
It`s, as I tend to do it, about love and forgiving mostly, the two things I strive to live for.
:)

Thank you, my friend. But you deserved an apology. You're a stellar person who was simply expressing their point of view..... and i'm grateful for it. Shine on. :biglove:

I've said this to several people that I've noticed a definite melting down of people and general crankiness that I think might be at least in part due to the severe winter weather those of us in the northern hemisphere have been experiencing. I love that example, Sunny, and maybe we all can take that to heart before we hit Post Reply with words we'll regret. Think twice, post once (or not at all). ;)

Good to have you back, Srbo, I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondering how things were going.

I have had a few addicts in my life and I have a right to be angry with them. They lie to your face, hurt you mentally, physically and emotionally, all for what is a very selfish pursuit of their addiction. They say hate the addiction, not the addict but sometimes it's hard to separate the two.

However, addiction is so common I'm convinced it is a very human trait, like any other undesirable human trait, and almost anyone can become an addict in the right (or should I say wrong) circumstances. We non-addicts are no better than addicts--we are all addicted to something, but we're lucky enough to be addicted to nondestructive things.

That some of the most successful people are also addicts should perhaps not be so surprising, some people pursue extremes regardless of whether they are positive or negative. Sometimes when they are good at pursuing the positive they feel entitled to pursue the negative as payback.

Spot on, Marsha.
The weather sure must have a part in it, many people are growing tired and weary from it, so...venting a bit on the net is not unusual.
Stressful, sometimes, but....nothing new under the sun.
