This is the true survivor show.

There are a couple of guys who really know what they are doing, but, it I think this is going to boil down to more of a mental game. As mentioned above, who can deal with the isolation, cold, wet, hungry, pretty defenseless.

The fact that they don't have guns to shoot the bears, wolves and mtn. lions that stalk them is scary. I think they are down to 7 men now.

I watched the whole show which ended this past Thursday. I won't say who won in case some haven't seen the ending yet, but the person who won is not surprising to me. I had him pegged the winner by episode 2. Pretty good show, the mental seemed worse for these men to deal over hunger and cold weather. The isolation wearing them down more than anything. Hats off to them all, what a great experience.

I found it to be really interesting. And yes, I also had this guy pegged as the winner. I was surprised
the kid was the one that held up next to him. I thought the guy who made the canoe and the musical instrument was going to be second.

Yes, I also thought that the canoe building musician would be second. I think watching the show taught me a lot about what it really takes and the winner had it, and the kid had it, too. Survival is mostly in the mind, but what the winner had was also the most survival knowledge, and maybe more experience. He also didn't have a young wife ready to give birth, or a mom dying of cancer; he was freer. It occurred to me also that, perhaps intentionally, the winner might've been given a locale most conducive to survival. In other words, that the whole thing was kind of manipulated.

I hope not. I like to think these things are serendipitous. But, I'm naive. I'm always told these reality shows are staged.

It's just that from the bird's eye perspective they kept showing of the players' locales the winner's seemed best to provide food and clean water. Only, I didn't start watching 'til there were six of them left, and so don't know where the other four were located.
