It was released pretty recently for Kindle, so I thought an Audible version would be around the corner. The Stand has publisher woes for years, but finally came out with an amazing Audible version a couple of years ago, so I figured the same for PS. Anyone?
I do wish a suitable actor would record a proper unabridged reading. The original leaves a lot to be desired. I've always enjoyed Pet Sematary, largely because it's one of the few SK novels that LEAVES the reader (the constant one, I mean) in a very dark place. Must've been a "rainy day" novel.
I totally agree, Amy-- I would LOVE it it Steven Weber would read PS. Weber does an amazing job on "It". Kind of sad that it's the only King book he read for. Ahh, well, one can hope!
My understanding is that SK regretted releasing this book. The story as I recall "bothered" him and he stuck it in a safety deposit box. He only released it because he owed the publisher a book. I'm not aware of issues around the movie release - though it was so tame compared to the book.
Only a rumor - but I was told that he will not allow it to be released as an unabridged audiobook.
