Nope, one book - particularly a King book - is more than enough for me at any given time!
I'm so into Stephen King right now that reading anything else just makes me long for his masterful writing. I read some James Herbert recently and, although I enjoyed it, I couldn't wait to get back to King.
This is me as well
I can only read one author at a time and one book at a time. I started reading “The Wind Through The Keyhole” a few weeks ago, and then I bought “The Stand” and told myself its ok to just read the first few pages; 831 pages into “The Stand” and it’s safe to say I won’t get back to “The Wind Through The Keyhole” until I finish "The Stand". I think the only reason I was able to diverge from “The Wind Through The Keyhole” was because I read the last 3 Dark Tower books in a three week period, and all the new characters of “The Stand” beckoned me greatly.
I have a stack of Dan Simons books and a stack of Orson Scott Card books, and when I look at those two piles of books and ask myself “ok Link , what are you going to read next” ; from my head and heart and groin screams “King, you’re going to read a few more Stephen King books, than you can read Dan Simons and Orson Scott Card, but you damn well know what you want: and you’re not done with King yet, so don’t kid yourself”
I could tell you I have
dedicated myself to reading Stephen King, but the more accurate truth is that I have
addicted myself to reading Stephen King.
