Paul McCartney song "Eleanor Rigby" is a story about an old lonely woman. "Wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door" is a reference the cold-cream she wears in an effort to look younger.Whenever i hear jar i think of Eleanor Rigby by Beatles "waits at the winding, Wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. Poor guy - sorry to hear this - we had a teacher in grade six who was from England - it was her task to teach us a half hour of French every day (can you believe it?)Love the French term "Moi aussi" . When we were being taught French back in the day I had a good friend whose nickname was Aussie (Richard Austerfield). It just reminds me of him everytime I hear. Unfortunately he died in a motorbike crash a long time ago.
I know that, of course, but i have become so attached to that line so everytime someone mentions jar i think beatles.Paul McCartney song "Eleanor Rigby" is a story about an old lonely woman.
