Leif : What brought you to this message board? What do you think so far?
I was on a tear reading SK books and short stories since the beginning of August. I'm not a fast reader but I read 6 novels and short stories after not reading for a while. I always liked Stephen King and have been a fan since I was a kid. I stumbled on the site looking up a video of a SK interview. I signed up and the rest is history.
I like the board. It is fun and everyone seems nice and welcoming. I can see some have been around for a long time and I clicked "follow" those members. The moderators are great as well.
I like the categories and other topics and discussions you can comment on. I seemed to have jumped right in and so far so good. I would like to spend more time on the discussion of the novels and short story sections but I'm having too much fun commenting and chatting in other areas. The downside is, it has slowed down my reading of Big Driver. Thanks to danie for recommending.

Favorite: Loving a kid who thinks he's unlovable, and providing a nurturing environment for him (that he doesn't experience at home).danie I live with a teacher, so I know what he likes and dislikes the most about teaching. What's your favorite and least favorite thing?
I just saw this post. I think both of your weird combos sound pretty good right now!I like my fries dipped in (more like swimming in) bacon ranch dressing. I like to dip potato chips in my ice cream. Is that weird enough?
My favorite food as a kid was sliced steak in a bowl with yellow mustard. I get grossed out just thinking about it now.
(PS: I didn't get an alert that I was tagged, just was randomly reading posts and saw my name!)
HA!!! You know I love ya or I would really have something to say! But I feel like it would take all the air out of this thread!I always looked at Romo as the guy who was holding the Cowboys back, but he seems to have reached a level where he's ready to take that final step. If they get any kind of running game, Dallas -- who really got jobbed in the playoffs last year -- could be trouble.
And not for nuthin', but you can have your "quarterback rating."
The top QB in the NFL won the Super Bowl (and he's gonna do it again this season).
; )
I use to... until I lost someone. Life lesson.. don't hold grudges.. let everyone know you LOVE them!Audra Hilton : Do you nourish grudges?

I started reading his books before i started collecting them. I believe I started collecting them in 1986 or 86. I am sure I gave alot of first editions away before I knew what they were.king family fan When did you start your SK collection?
Debbie913 Do you get much sleep?
Neesy Why does everyone always say "Neesy's chatting" ! lol Do you chat much?
You can hide behind Scott too,Leif..he's big enough!Geeze! I like the Viking Axe or sword but that will do for close combat.
My Tall Guy would agree. He's so strictly limited about how he can teach, and then HE'S blamed when the kids don't get it. He's been at it for a long time, too. So, like you, he has an idea of what works and what doesn't. But he can only follow orders.Favorite: Loving a kid who thinks he's unlovable, and providing a nurturing environment for him (that he doesn't experience at home).
Least favorite: All the programs we're trained in that are the BIG NEW THING that's going to save education and help every kid be a scholar.
They stick around for a year or so, then we get trained in the next BIG NEW THING. Just let me teach...I know by now what works and what doesn't.
The three I can think of right now - Ice Castles, Return to Me and Shawshank. What are some of you guys favorite movies of all time?
