We got a can opener from some Spoiled Cook party that Grandma went to. It's pretty cool.

I'm used to the old ones that cut down into the lid. This would produce a lid with a sharp edge, and in fact, as a kid, I spent the one time of my life going to the hospital (other than the heart attack) to get a knuckle stitched up when a can of cat food whipped my a$$.

This one, though, cuts from the side and lifts the can lid off nicely. No sharp edges.
Must be Pampered Chef. ;-D I have one of those as well. Tried an electric can opener once at a relative's house - was way too frustrating.

I have one of these! My husband refuses to use it, he has one of those newfangled things that keeps the lid all nice, but I can't get rid of mine. I swear the thing works better than the "industrial" can openers my old job used! I'm so stubborn about my manual can opener, I've never learned how to operate an electric one...

There was a recent Tv documentary in which several HS and grade school students were shown various retro devices. It was sad, yet funny watching them trying to understand there use. Rotary phone was one of them.

Reminds me of a news article a few weeks ago, about young man who had just bought his first (and therefore older) car and wondered why his iPhone wouldn't charge and got all scratched when he put it in the designated opening in the dashboard. It appeared he had never heard of a cassette player.
