I can see your confusion. You probably thought it was a brand of toilet paper. :)

I won't sully Kurben's thread further, but what is the deal with the latest toilet paper commercials and everyone fawning over the ridges and such? I haven't seen such commotion over a ridge since Ruffles or Heartbreak (not a WWII movie, but at least I tried to get back on track........).

Has anyone seen the new movie that just came out… Hacksaw Ridge? The story of Desmond Doss, who in WWII refused to kill people and became the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery. I saw an excellent documentary about him and hope to see the movie soon.

Everyone has listed some great movies. But what comes to mind first with me, is not a movie, I think it was a tv
series and it was called Band of Brothers. I have watched it more than once.

That was a great series. I forgot to list that one. Didn't Tom Hanks have something to do with the production of that series?

Wouldn't this line of commentary be "pooping" on Kurben's thread? :)

You know,I think the actor that plays the hero,is the same guy that the Saving Private Ryan squad first thought was the James Ryan they were looking for..remember,the guy who ran up the line, and they questioned him,and he had the wrong middle initial and started crying saying he had to go home?

yeh, the movie was astounding in its story telling. I was dubious about the tale until I watched the doco- them my jaw dropped even further. I was quite choked after seeing it.
a pity forest Gump pinched the idea , but didn't detract from the tale.

never forgotten.

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds don't cry!!!! he misbehaves !!!

that there is a very young Richard castle -AKA Nathan Fillon (1998) the actor in the hacksaw movie is Amazing Spider-Man --andrew Garfield .

this "AsK Sheemiee" is free - the next one be $10.

I remember seeing a poster for the movie and it seemed to be some skinny young actor.

In a post earlier today I said how much I liked the TV series Band of Brothers. Well, it is on television all day
Friday and Saturday. Nice :)
Staff Sergeant William "Wild Bill" Guarnere once told me... "Get your ass down here if you want a picture" (he had lost a leg at the Battle of the Bulge). Lieutenant Lynn "Buck" Compton seemed to be a gracious and honorable man.

Do they bear an amazing resemblance to each other or is that just me?
