 Don't feel sad! I felt like death warmed over most of the time back then, and now I feel almost normal! I just remind myself of how awful I felt all the time, and that's usually enough to make me think, "nah" whenever I'm tempted to go out and grab some Cheetos or something.

And the holidays are a great time for me! They mean cookies, and fruitcake, and pumpkin pie, and the best egg nog ever! Not to mention the dinners we come up with....mmmmm. :biggrin2:
I know I feel better when I eat healthy. I fall short more often than not but, one thing I have been doing the past few months that has helped me feel better all the way around is, believe it or not, drinking plenty of water. I cut out drinking 90% of the soda and sweet tea I drink and replaced it with water. It's weird how really refreshing water is. No, what's weird is that every time I drink water instead of soda I am surprised that it's so good and satisfying. Every time. Go figure.

Same here. I've been drinking only bottled water for 5 years. I still order tea or coke occasionally at restaurants and have one cup of coffee on some mornings but I can tell a difference. Fewer headaches.

Oh so sorry to hear this! Hopefully the rest of your house won't get it. I've had some kind of stomach thing for a few days. Not bad enough to keep me home from work, but bad enough that I can't eat. Just gingerale and pretzels right now.

That is a great word! CHAKALAKA!
I know! I thought the same thing when I saw the bag
as in "Boom! Chakalaka-laka Boom! Chakalaka-laka

Good for you. I type reports with people in them who have not kept themselves well hydrated and it can lead to severe kidney injury and/or renal failure in the long run.

Just keep doin' what your doin' Pat! :haha:

Plus it makes your skin look so much nicer, as it flushes toxins out of your body (so we got that goin' for us, eh?) :m_drink:

I quit drinking sodas a while back. I can probably count on one hand the number of sodas I've hand in the last 15 years. Beer however will take more than one hand. ;-D

Fried dill pickles with homemade ranch dip.......and of course, anything made with Velveeta!
I forgot about fried pickles! I used to love those suckers. Sonic had them. I had a cat, Elwood, (he had a brother named Jake, but I digress) that would freak when I brought them home. He was normally a well mannered mellow fur man, but he loved him some fried pickles. He'd beg me until I gave him one. He'd chew the batter off and ignore it then devour the pickle.

Oh yes, these. There are a few places around here that have them, but nobody does it better than Sonic.

I too try to balance and drinks tons of water. I'm not a soda drinker. Just gingerale when I'm sick. If I'm not going to the bathroom every hour at least then I know I'm not drinking enough water. And I try to eat a piece of fruit before I eat something else sweet. Sometimes I'll be dying for something sweet, but there's usually fruit around and that works best. Right now I'm eating the most delicious juicy pear. I've got three paper towels tucked into the front of my dress because I'm dripping and I'm at work.

I love your kitty story - Elwood and Jake!!
