My Grandma used to make the BEST dill pickles (with pickled carrots too - Yum!)! None of us learned the recipe before she passed away. The only regular pickles I like are baby dills. I usually buy Gedney Jalapeno Babies. :)

Used to get Chow-Chow from a local Amish farm. Candy!

I have been vegetarian for most of my life. Once in a while I can eat meat. I don't know how or why that happens, but when it does there is a cheeseburger somewhere near.
When I was really young I ate some hamburger that had a bit of something hard and grisly in it and it grossed me out so bad I refused to eat meat again. So I didn't for a very long time.
I swore off ground beef for about 15 years. We'd had a cookout and some kind person helping clean up wrapped the extra burgers and put them in the oven for safekeeping. I discovered them when the maggots started falling onto the kitchen floor many many days later. It was a very long time before I could handle ground beef again. It's been long enough that I'm over it, but oh God, the maggots. :barf::barf::barf:
