Sleeping with the Enemy. I liked the movie--it's one of those I can watch over and over again.
The book was HORRIBLE. I was very impressed that the film people made such a great movie adaptation from it.

DarkKrystl, I so agree about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I tried the book once and couldn't get into it. After watching the movie and really enjoying it, I was able to retry the book and ended up enjoying it, but only coz I'd watched the movie before.
I just dug out my Sleeping with the Enemy DVD because my mom wants to watch it again. Never read the book, but have seen the movie at least six times!

I did read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and thought it was decent (not good enough that I continued on with the series though). Tried to watch the movie on Netflix on two separate occasions and couldn't get into it. I don't think it was the American version - will have to look for that one.

To Have and Have Not. Sure, very little of Hemingway's story made it into Howard Hawks' movie, but who gives a damn? You got Bogie and Bacall working that smoky (literally) chemistry for the first time, you got Walter Brennan as an old rummy deck hand, and Hoagy Carmichael just as cool as you want. One of those flicks I can watch over and over.
