I'd been thinking of posting something publicly but didn't know just what, where, or how. This thread now provides the ideal opportunity, so here goes...

I've been fortunate enough to be an SKMB member since 2006, and have enjoyed the honor like nothing I can compare it to. Most of the time I've behaved myself. I slipped off the rails a little while back, partly because it's what a person sometimes does who's too involved with a given habit (the SKMB, I mean). I've learned the hard way that I must draw a line at the SKMB and where that line is. Before being forced to do that I'd become pretty nasty here with certain members with whom I disagree about this and that. I recently, finally, decided to try to return to behaving like the member I used to be, realizing that I can't so shouldn't try to control anyone but myself.

I apologize to those members toward whom I've been obnoxiously confrontational. My decision is not to interact with anyone unless I can do so in an acceptable, civil way. I apologize for my part in the recent decision the office has been forced to make.

I've always loved this Board, always will. I pray it lasts for years to come and expect it to. I'm encouraged by how many Noobs we continue to see. The SKMB will always be a remarkable place for all walks of Stephen King fans to congregate and enjoy one another. I assume if I'm careful I'll be able to continue enjoying all of you, too (OoO, I don't mean that).

Well wait a second, I think I finally hit the unmodded 10 day target on Friday... does that mean I have to wait until Monday?

How dare the hardworking moderators, who have had to sift through my ramblings day in day out, have time off and not mark this momentous occasion? What is this site, free or something?

That said, please tell me that the shutting down of the board is like somekind of nuclear launch code where there has to be two of you with special keys that go into red locks that have to be turned at the precise same time? That would make my day.

Seriously bro, I think my outrageous amount of postings has lead to there meltdown! I have tried to read and respond to everything humanly possible. And i am just one person. But if it makes them feel any better after I found out they still had to read my posts I tried to find out the rules both written and un-written and not respond to things or thread things wrong. it was a sweet escape while it lasted.

You're at mid 600's. I am nearing 10K myself. My point is you haven;t given them nearly as much work as some of us have. Not to mention, my first few thousand were on the old board that was moderated for every single post.

Hey Mods are Great people. I was DA** surprised to find out Flake and DJ volunteer to do this. One of the first questions I asked flake directly (I think it was my first or second day on SKMB was "Do you work in a giant call center type place where there are a bunch of modds and each of you have like 5 sites you watch? And are you actually a fan of Stephen King or do you just have to keep up to date on who ever site you are modding so you can know what people are talking about?" see in my 27 year old mind that was raised with technology, I thought this, like most sites, was just another business/personal platform like facebook or something. So when I found out they were normal people and this was not their "job" I was impressed.
I was also under the false impression when your posts stop being delayed for MOD SQUAD approval that meant they did not have to read them. Flake pointed out you guys have to read all the messages. I get a concentration head ache trying to keep up with my own dang posts so the idea of that is just Flabbergasting. For me the SKMB is like when A kid gets a new bike. They use the hell out of it until they get burnt out. I have been using the hell out of this site to keep myself entertained while I was supposed to be doing nothing while recovering from an injury. I feel like I may be partially to blame for the MODS burn out which makes me feel a little guilty. Understand that I can be on facebook all night and have at least five alternating friends on there with me at all times. This is considered to be pretty normal for my generation. So I am wondering now if I have abused this website by treating it like a facebook or something. If so SORRY!!!!!!.
I think you all deserve time off! you got lives to live just like we do! I just want you all to know that I personally really frickin appreciate the unique-ness you provide by MODDING this site. I mean for the most part it has been good clean fun!!! something I am not used to internet wise.
AND just to make sure I made my point perfectly clear. YOU three MODS I have encountered frickin ROCK!

Moderator FlakeNoir Dana Jean :peace:
I believe it's safe to say that you had NOTHING to do with this decision.

Old member here. I've enjoyed watching your enthusiasm after discovering the SKMB. Like Hoss, most of my 10K posts were on the older Messages boards. Pleased to call you a Tet-Mate. Don't be afraid to keep posting.

As far as I'm concerned, as well as I safely assume others are, you've been nothing but a blessing here, Ash, a great and needful addition, and my new personal fave.
