Okay, I knew if I put what this thread really was about, no one would look at it. This is cool you guys. Really, it is. Check out this urban foraging map.

You do not have to sign up. If a sign up thing pops up, just close it and go zoom in on your area on the map.

It shows you free food to forage in your area with street views and everything.

Okay, I'm a gardening geek.

Excellent tactic - you know how to reel 'em in, girl!
I have to tell you, though. Either I can't figure it out, or there's nothing in my area. I was hoping for a list of fig trees needing harvesting.

I was looking a bit, and it seems individuals add the information, so some people would add even if they shouldn't. I'm familiar with some of my area, and at least one of the trees is in the back yard of a private residence. Those poor people have had kids cutting through their yard for years. Year round, so not for picking, just kids cutting through.

Just so this thread is not a total wreck from the title:

Think I'll pass for now--the only ones in my area are dumpsters. Even if there wasn't a law against dumpster diving, don't think I'd ever be that hungry or not have someone else I could go to for a meal. Now if they ever post a good place to go for raspberries until mine get big enough to produce more than a handful at a time, I might consider it! ;-D

I found apples, blackberries, and muscadines!

My property line in the back yard is covered in blue raspberries. I think someone must have planted them, but they have gone wild over the years.
After the split with the birds and deer, it looks like I'm gonna get a couple of gallons this year :encouragement:

Dumpsters? Uh, no. Me neither. I didn't have any dumpsters in my area, it was all fresh growing things. It even told me that on the side of a Target, there was fresh rosemary! lol. And too bad you aren't here, we have foraging raspberries in a bazillion locations.
