I have all of these crates, not a whole lot of info floating around the web. Since Moxie gets a mention in at least two SK books and I know there are some New England residents here, I'd love if you guys could help me out. :)

Mainly, I would like to know when the 12 pack crate went from 75 cents up to a dollar.
Then, it would be cool to know where Manchester NH came into play? I know that Moxie eventually ended up headquartered in NH at some point but in a different town.
And finally, what's the deal with the different colored Moxie logo?

Are we going to build a fort with them? We can put up a sign - only SK fans allowed!

Thanks everyone! It's tough to find any info on these crates. Weirdest one is the crate that states Lafayette Beverages Manchester New Hampshire. (that part is not pictured in my pics :) ) I couldn't find any mention of that company? subsidiary? anywhere. Might need to search some more. :)

I've never had a Moxie - what do they taste like? Any idea? I heard you can still get them in Maine at Frank's store that was apparently made famous in the book. (11/22/63).

They get a mention somewhere else too. It might be in Hearts in Atlantis?? It's somewhere! :)
Apparently, like you mentioned Neesy, the state of Maine adopted Moxie as a State Beverage!?! And the mentioned Moxie Festival in 11/22/63 is a real thing.

The only thing that makes Moxie palatable is hard liquor. :)
Does it kind of taste like Cheerwine? Those were common in North Carolina when I visited there years ago.

It was okay--like a cherry Dr. Pepper.

I don't think Moxie tastes like cherry Dr Pepper, but I've heard some use that description (I theorize those people lost their taste buds in industrial accidents).

Moxie remains "popular" (and I use that term loosely) locally because it is bottled in a small town a couple counties west of me.

LOL. Well, I've drank a lot of Moxie, anyway. As a kid I'd walk down the block to my cousin's house and they always had Moxie on hand, and sometimes the only soda was Moxie. My uncle had played Major League Baseball and was a personal friend of Ted Williams. Ted had been the spokesman for Moxie. Personally, I thought he took the friendship too far when it resulted in the poisoning of relatives. :)
