Then it can't possibly taste like Moxie.Cheerwine and Sundrop are both nectar of the gods.......(guess which is my favorite)
Perhaps, 'Creomulshion' sounds pretty nasty. From what DiO describes, I'll bet that Moxie tastes a lot like Creomulshion cough syrup.....
I have all of these crates, not a whole lot of info floating around the web. Since Moxie gets a mention in at least two SK books and I know there are some New England residents here, I'd love if you guys could help me out.
Mainly, I would like to know when the 12 pack crate went from 75 cents up to a dollar.
Then, it would be cool to know where Manchester NH came into play? I know that Moxie eventually ended up headquartered in NH at some point but in a different town.
And finally, what's the deal with the different colored Moxie logo?

I've never had a Moxie - what do they taste like? Any idea? I heard you can still get them in Maine at Frank's store that was apparently made famous in the book. (11/22/63).

I think King is having sport with his readers over this Moxie soda. I’ll bet he doesn’t even drink the stuff, unless he believes in that “one needs to suffer for your art” nonsense. I’d also wager the fridge at Ms Mod’s location is void of Moxie… except perchance they have a stash on hand to dissuade unwanted salesmen.
(A-Treat Grapefruit Soda is a whole other animal, though. )
LOL. I think King was thinking of Moxie when he stated... “I recognize terror as the finest emotion and so I will try to terrorize the reader. But if I find that I cannot terrify, I will try to horrify, and if I find that I cannot horrify, I'll go for the gross-out. I'm not proud. ”I don't drink soda at all--lost my taste for it several years ago. No idea why, just didn't taste good any more. Even if I did, though, you're right, there would not be any Moxie in my fridge. I tried it again a few years ago just to see if it really did taste as bad as I remembered and it did. I think the expression it will put hair on your chest was first voiced after someone had their first taste of Moxie.

You need to be started off young with Moxie in order to appreciate its unique taste by the time you’re able to vote.HaHa! I had no clue that just bringing up Moxie would spawn such a response. I've never had the stuff myself. Some of my family is from Fitchburg Mass. That's where all the crates came from. A buddy of mine from Maine flipped out when he saw them. They were my bookshelves several years ago. They've just been sitting in my garage for the last 10 years.
So judging from what you guys have to say about the taste it's not surprising that "Moxie" became a common term for courage! I don't know if I even want to try it now.
...that particular business just pops up now as a trucking company.....Thanks everyone! It's tough to find any info on these crates. Weirdest one is the crate that states Lafayette Beverages Manchester New Hampshire. (that part is not pictured in my pics ) I couldn't find any mention of that company? subsidiary? anywhere. Might need to search some more.
LOL. I looked it up. I saw it was being sold by ‘Colonial Medical Assisted Devices.” What is wrong with this picture?...try it on toast!.....
...maybe it also acts as a contact solution for AED pads....LOL. I looked it up. I saw it was being sold by ‘Colonial Medical Assisted Devices.” What is wrong with this picture?
CLEAR!...maybe it also acts as a contact solution for AED pads....
