LOVE sugar skulls......she is in to her Sugar Skull period right now......
My one daughter is quite artistically talented and sells some of her work online for spending money while at college, in addition to tutoring math. She requested artist coloring pencils as a Christmas present. The artist set she wanted cost me almost $100... are you kidding me... for pencils?Does anyone on this thread do adult colouring? I whant to get into my crafting again
They make a difference. That's beautiful and looks so cozy!! Smart to get started so soon.I don't usually crochet as I prefer the look of knitting but wanted to try doing crochet cables. Made this afghan for my daughter for Christmas (2018) for that project. Am trying to get an early start on this year's handmade Christmas gifts.

Very cool! I woulda never quessed that afghan was crocheted. Are those chains forming the cables?
Especially considering I'd had that kit for over a year already! It was supposed to be last year's present. That's beautiful and looks so cozy!! Smart to get started so soon.
Wow - that is a nice pattern - I do like to crochet but usually I just make those granny squares - okay, as far as Christmas goes, I'll take mine in a nice maroon colour (thanks!)I don't usually crochet as I prefer the look of knitting but wanted to try doing crochet cables. JK of course!
That would be great - thanks!I can send you the link to the pattern and the video.
Break out the Rosetta stone. They're triple crochet but you have to skip 3 and then go back to the skipped stitches, first crocheting in front of the piece and then on the next round moving over 3 and the skipped stitches are done from behind and under the ones just worked. I'm not describing that well. I tried doing the pattern from the instructions (Lion Brand and free) but it wasn't making sense. Found a video that finally helped it click.
On a scale of babbling idiot to skilled artisté, where would this afghan fall?I can send you the link to the pattern and the video.
That's how I felt when I found that video!Break out the Rosetta stone.
I'd say intermediate level. If you've done single, double and triple crochet, you should be able to do this with the help of the video. On a scale of babbling idiot to skilled artisté, where would this afghan fall?
