I LOVE that! I have little birdies all over my house (my avi on twitter is always a bird, in fact . I found myself fixated on them after a very hard time, and I finally realized they were a message: "He knows where every bird falls, so do I suppose I am less important?" This is lovely! Here is a bird i made out of a gourd. i used a wood burner to burn the details in. Of course my inspiration was:
ARCHIVE GALLERIES Mindy Hawkins -- unbelievable gourd artist extraordinaire.
Another amazing artist. I can't afford these people's work, so I try to do my own little version which pales in comparison but creative nonetheless.
Got a book from the library on the way home from work called "Cool Stuff for Bath & Beauty" - it was in the Juvenile section (somewhat appropriate from what I have been told at work!) There is a section called "Bath Bubblers" showing how to make your own. Lush Canada at the mall or online sells them for about 6 or 7 bucks a piece and I just love them but it can get quite expensive. It says you need citric acid powder and witch hazel. I have the cornstarch, baking soda, essential oil, food colouring, etc. but where would I buy citric acid powder (I wonder?) and is witch hazel something you can get at the drug store?
p.s. Andy told me I could just use that Real lemon juice that you buy at the grocery store and spray that in instead but I am not sure if it would be the same
All I could find was something called "Fruit Fresh" which had citric acid in it but the first ingredient was dextrose then citric acid. I am going to have to keep looking around. I found the witch hazel and the sweet almond oilI buy citric acid at Wal-Mart, in the canning stuff. I used to use it in homemade dishwasher detergent Witch Hazel is probably in the pharmacy dept, near the peroxide and alcohol.
