Can You Write A Horror Story In Two Sentences?

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream" chanted the children as they ran to the ice cream truck.The screams! The screams!
"What would you little kids like today?" said Mr. Mercedes.

Okay - I am no writer (obviously!) but looking over what I wrote, I think
"the children chanted" sounds better than "chanted the children" - [too stilted]
Wow - how DOES Stephen King do it? practice, practice, practice?
I opened the refrigerator. There was no more beer.
No beer at my house, either, I want one. It's been a long couple of days.
Not exactly a horror story...

He looked in the mirror and saw a ghost, then dragged a knife across his throat.
I opened my bedroom door. There was my ex-Mother-in Law, naked.
With one quick bite, the last sane man fell to the ground. Hello Kitty laughed in the lonely street, waving it's small white arms in evil delight.
I looked and searched and pried and dug. Unfortunately, I found it.
He wanted the world to end, so he stepped off of the cliff. Then he stepped off of it again, and then again.
To him, life was a nightmare. The sick, sad part was that he couldn't wake up from it.
He wanted the world to begin, so he let the particles grow together. The old becomes new again through renovation by fire.
"Key's are in the console and take a shot of the car hood as you leave." She followed the voice; as her ignition started she reached up to hit the garage remote and stopped as the door rolled down as if he closed it on purpose.
