I swear people have lost their damn minds! There is not one stinking roll of toilet paper to be found in my town. Wtf.

I saw an ad in local classified group saying "hey, I have plenty tp and will sell and deliver some to you for double the price I paid." I am pretty sure they were not joking.

I saw a picture from our Home Depot that showed one woman with the big flat carts, 2 of them...one was loaded with tp. Stacked up like landscaping bricks. And one cart stacked with bleach. Plus she had a cart full of other stuff.

Is this going on everywhere?? I mean come on. I had to go out to pick up some prescriptions this morning. Pharmacy was well stocked on otc stuff. Then went to grocery store for few things and food was all well stocked. Toilet paper aisle bare.

WTF. People who run out and need some aren't going to be able to get any. I. Don't. Get. It. Common sense much??

And the poor people that work at the store are going to have to deal with all of this stuff being returned at a future date (and then go through it all over again in November).

We have stores around here that are putting a 2 item limit on purchasing the stuff that is being hoarded.

I wish they would do that here.

On another note I wonder if Ali is even going to get to go on her DC trip. It is not until the end of May but I got an email from the organization sponsoring the trip last week saying they had cancelled all upcoming overseas trips already and were looking into rescheduling, and monitoring the situation for domestic trips.

Personally i dont believe in a conspiracy theory in this case. If it had come from a factory as suggested they would have done research on it. But it took the Chinese with their pants down. if the chinese had known from the beginning what it was they would also have known how to minimize the damage because i doubt they willingly hurt themselves so much as this has hurt them. Also, if you have a bioweapon factory-research facility why waste time on this which isn't very deadly when there is so many much more deadly. It is a wellknown pattern in history that many sicknesses that have devastated humanity has spread from east to west. plague is just the most well known example so what is so strange that this virus mutates somewhere in Wuhan district and does the same thing? nothing really. Just my two cents.

Hmmm, I wonder is something is happening in Washington, DC, or gonna happen. The youngest daughter just got notified that following spring break, the university will shift to online classes for three weeks. I just received the same email. The DC university strongly encourages students to return to their homes (or stay home if already there) for this period. Students can return to campus to pick up educational materials and personal belongings.

My university is basically saying just wash your hands ... great.

Expecting common sense from the Chinese government is like expecting a heatwave in England. Diseases usually develop over time, it started with rats with the plague, this came from nowhere.
