You know, that's the first thing that popped into my mind too. It's like trying to imagine Dolores Claiborne directed by Michael Bay (all judgement reserved though, I promise!).
...I couls see THAT though....Dolores kinda gives off that Optimus Prime vibe...just without all the engine grease and such...

I don't know a lot about the theater industry -- I've never seen a play or a Broadway show -- but this sounds like a good project. Willis is one of those actors who can pull off a role to at least some acceptable degree. And this sounds like a smart way to extend King's brand. Although there have been other stage adaptations, this one seems to be more high-profile (but I have limited knowledge of King's stage-adaptation history, so that statement may be inaccurate).

I wonder, though, how much money a guy like Willis needs to do this. I assume he takes a significant cut in pay, but does he take a big share of the gate (if that is the term I want)? And I hope this is one of those projects where King participates as well (i.e., didn't sell off the rights earlier). I'm pretty sure he must, because I assume the Reiner-Castle Rock connection supports that (i.e., by the time of the Misery film deal, King and his agents knew the industry).

At a show like this, will copies of Misery be on sale, I wonder? Special editions tied to the show?

This also makes me wonder if it is time for either a remake of Misery, or a limited-series adaptation. Imagine if the idea were changed a bit -- what if the maniacal nurse made a point of kidnapping different writers? Maybe she's a former nurse who had a history of killing patients and escaped prosecution, and she ends up in the entertainment industry in some capacity, and is able to imprison several writers. She then orders them to collaborate on a project together. Or, maybe it could be a couple screenwriters, actors, a producer, director, and a cinematographer. All on a big, isolated family estate she owns. Forces the writer to write the book, the screenwriters to adapt it, and then the film people to lens it. That might make an interesting series.
