Is there a link to The Road Virus? I can't find my book.
That is what I thought too. The painting always comes back!! Thoughts in his mind before other books?Stephen had fun with critics and his favorite question at the beginning of this one.
So, when Hastings burned all of his paintings except this one before he hung himself, do you think he burned this one to and it just didn't stay burned?
Maybe one of his kinder days? Had an Aunt of the name? What was with Stephen sending Aunt Trudy to the movies and sparing her? That's not like him.

....indeed it was!.....His description of the painting , as it changed, were perfect of painting that picture in your own mind's eye.
If I recall correctly-- ens ago, when the SKMB had the game The Office, it was hanging on the virtual wall.
Yes it does. Just like an old Night Gallery or Twilight Zone.....this is a great tale and reads like I'm watching it as a movie......echoes of Rose Madder too of course.....
I think you're right. He destroyed them all, but the cat came back so to speak with this one.Stephen had fun with critics and his favorite question at the beginning of this one.

fixedtoo (I hate when I see I've done that and the edit button has passed)
There have been many stories through the years about things being buried behind walls. So I liked this too because it made me think of all the stories where the (usually killer) has walled someone up , or cemented someone in the ground and it still has a way of coming back to haunt them.My favorite line in this story:
"He turned and went back to his car, already picking up his mental trowel. He would wall this incident off in it's own special niche..."
I wonder if we can still have access to The Office? Moderator? His description of the painting , as it changed, were perfect of painting that picture in your own mind's eye.
