And once again, the (to me) inexplicable fascination with royalty hits - as soon as she heard it, Grandma had the "Charlotte Elizabeth Diana" planted firmly in her synapses.

She doesn't have the same fascination with the Japanese royal family, although there are some interesting parallels there.

I hear you. I don't get the fascination either. I pay no mind to the heirs of the throne the United States renounced 239 years ago! Anarchy! Anarchy! Oh wait, lost myself for a minute there. Carry on!

And don't worry, DiO'Bolic: if they're trying to tell anyone anything, it's that for all the talk of modernization they're really still stuck in the C18th...along with the rest of the aristocracy and a fair number of politicians (perhaps because more than a few are one and the same). ;)
